Information: At the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Mentoring in Neuroscience Discovery at Sinai (MiNDS), the Center for Excellence in Youth Education (CEYE), and the Friedman Brain Institute have come together to offer several events to raise awareness in the East Harlem and larger New York City communities for brain research. The annual Brain Awareness Fair is a day-long event during which members of the public are encouraged to come to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai to interact with scientists and doctors who study and treat the brain. Over thirty booths of meet-the-experts, games, and informational activities are offered on topics ranging from traumatic brain injury, to memory, to perception and movement, and more. Come oogle our giant, inflatable brain to get a better sense of how your brain is structured. Speak with some of the world’s leading minds on the science of addiction and depression, or meet a neurosurgeon. The unique, collaborative research and medical community at Mount Sinai lends itself to New York City’s most comprehensive, exciting day of learning about the brain.
