BAW volunteer orientation: Socially inclusive outreach

Join BraiNY for an outreach orientation on Saturday, March 11th, 10:30am to 12pm ET. BraiNY's own Kristin Anderson, PhD, will zoom in from Galway to share her expertise on "Socially inclusive outreach: theory and practice."

What is social inclusion? How do we design, run, and deliver socially inclusive STEM outreach? In this training, Kristin will lead us through theory and best practices for socially-inclusive outreach. Kristin's work at the University of Galway focuses on empowering children from disadvantaged or marginalized backgrounds. While this training will focus on working with young people, social inclusion theory will also be applicable to working with adult populations.

Whether you're a seasoned educator or new to outreach, we hope many of you will join for the discussion, which will be equal parts didactic and interactive. To receive the Zoom meeting details, please register using this link. For those not able to join on a Saturday morning in NYC, a recording of the meeting will be made available by request.
